Creating Skills for the Future

At Wings of Hope Rescue Home, we support teenage girls and young mothers who have experienced circumstances that can interrupt their education and limit their future opportunities.

The Beading & Skills Empowerment Project gives the girls a structured space to learn beadwork, practise their skills and develop products while building confidence, creativity, patience and teamwork.

The project also introduces participants to basic entrepreneurship so that they can begin understanding how a practical skill can be developed into an income-generating opportunity.

Learn

Participants learn basic beadwork techniques, patterns, product preparation and proper use of materials.

Create

Participants practise by making beadwork pieces, improving their technique and learning to produce consistent work.

Build

Training helps participants strengthen confidence, patience, teamwork, creativity and basic entrepreneurship skills.

Earn

The long-term goal is to help participants develop products and skills that can open pathways to income generation and economic independence.

TRAINING IN ACTION

Learning Through Practice

Beadwork sessions give participants time to practise what they have learned, work alongside one another and receive guidance from the trainer.

The sessions are designed to move beyond simply keeping the girls occupied. Participants are encouraged to develop a skill they can continue using beyond their time at Wings of Hope.

As their skills improve, the programme aims to connect practical training with product development, entrepreneurship and future income-generating opportunities.
